Join U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo for an evening of poetry Nov. 16 during an online event hosted by UC Irvine. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Harjo is an internationally renowned performer and writer of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
She is the author of nine books of poetry, several plays and children’s books, and two memoirs. The U.S. poet laureate serves as the country’s official poet, seeking to raise the national consciousness for the reading and writing of poetry.
